N Netflix

The Good: The app is flawless. It never buffers, the recommendation algorithm is the best in the business, and the sheer volume of "good enough" content means you always have something to play in the background.

The Bad: It is the most expensive, especially if you want 4K. They also cancel shows ruthlessly after one season if they don't become instant hits.

D Disney+

The Good: If you have kids, it is non-negotiable. If you like Star Wars or Marvel, it is mandatory. 4K is included in the base price, which is a huge plus over Netflix.

The Bad: Once you step outside the main franchises (and The Simpsons), the library feels very small.

M Max (HBO)

The Good: Quality. The Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones, Succession. Max has the best back-catalog of "Prestige TV" in history. They also get theatrical releases (like Dune) very quickly.

The Bad: The app itself can be buggy. The rebrand from "HBO Max" to "Max" confused the library with a lot of reality TV clutter.

P Prime Video

The Good: You probably already have it. X-Ray feature (seeing actor names in real-time) is incredible.

The Bad: The interface is a mess. It mixes "Free with Prime" and "Rent/Buy" content, making it frustrating to find something you don't have to pay extra for.

The Verdict

If you can only pick one:

  • Best Overall: Netflix (despite the price, it's still the king of "TV").
  • Best Value: Disney+ Bundle (Disney/Hulu/ESPN).
  • Best for Cinephiles: Max.
