1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to VidScio ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website (www.vidscio.com), browser extension, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. Material changes will be notified where required by law. Changes do not retrospectively reduce benefits already purchased or override mandatory consumer rights.

2. Description of Service

VidScio is a browser extension and web application that uses artificial intelligence to identify movies and TV shows from web content, including YouTube videos, descriptions, and comments. The Service provides:

• AI-powered movie and TV show identification
• An AI chat assistant for movie discovery, recommendations, and streaming availability questions
• Movie details and metadata display
• Personal watchlist management
• Cross-device synchronization (for registered users)
• Conversation history storage for registered users

The Service offers free daily allowances and optional one-time identification packs. Current benefits and charges are described on the pricing page and at checkout. Identification allowance is shared between the main finder and chat; ordinary chat, burst limits, and concurrency limits are separate. Free limits and available models may change as capacity changes. Purchased benefits remain subject to the terms disclosed at purchase and applicable consumer protections.

2A. Purchases and Account Benefits

The current pack's credit count, price, credit validity, and display-ad-free duration are disclosed on the pricing page and purchase dialog before checkout. Each purchase retains its disclosed terms. There is no automatic renewal. Repeat purchases add their disclosed display-ad-free duration after your existing ad-free expiry or confirmation time, whichever is later. Affiliate recommendations, including Amazon modules, remain visible. Each credit grant has its own expiry, shown in your account.

Free daily allowance is used first. A new request that returns a usable movie or show result consumes at most one identification credit; this is not a guarantee of accuracy. Up to four correction attempts for that identification are included, and clearer evidence may be requested. Errors or no-result attempts before settlement release the reservation. A result stored before a disconnection may still be charged and replayed. Known-title details, recommendations, and ordinary conversation do not consume purchased identification credits.

Dodo Payments is the merchant of record. The final currency, taxes, and payable amount are shown before payment. Purchases are bound to your account and are not transferable or redeemable for cash except where required by law. You must have legal capacity to purchase, or authorization from a parent or guardian where applicable. Benefits start after verified payment confirmation, not when a browser claims payment succeeded.

See the Refund and Service Interruption Policy. Missing benefits, incorrect deductions, duplicate charges, and material outages can be reported for investigation and any remedy required by law. No blanket waiver of refunds or statutory cancellation rights applies. Earlier purchases retain their disclosed validity.

3. User Accounts

Some features of our Service require you to create an account using Google Sign-In. When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in certain EU countries) to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to circumvent any security measures or access restrictions
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without authorization
• Transmit malware, viruses, or other malicious code
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Abuse, harass, or harm other users
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code or underlying models
• Use outputs from the Service to build or train a competing product or AI model
• Bypass or overwhelm rate limits, caching, or authentication mechanisms
• Upload, share, or request abusive content that violates any third-party platform policies

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by VidScio and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Movie Data: Movie and TV show information displayed through our Service (titles, posters, ratings, cast, plot summaries, etc.) is sourced from third-party databases such as OMDB, IMDb, and Rotten Tomatoes. This data is provided for informational purposes only, and all rights belong to their respective owners.

User Content: You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including prompts, screenshots, chat messages, and watchlist items. By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, store, and process that content solely to provide, secure, debug, and improve the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.

You agree to comply with any license terms that apply to the third-party data we display. You may not copy, resell, or republish metadata from OMDB, IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, or other sources accessed through the Service except for your personal, non-commercial use. Third-party providers may revoke access at any time, and your continued use is conditional upon their terms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

AI Accuracy: VidScio uses artificial intelligence models to identify movies and TV shows. We do not guarantee that:

• AI identifications will be accurate, complete, or reliable
• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Results will meet your specific requirements or expectations
• A movie or show will be identified, or an AI chat response will be correct or appropriate
• A title, episode, streaming link, subscription offer, or third-party API will be available in your region
• Every error can be corrected immediately or within a guaranteed timeframe

You acknowledge that AI models can and do make mistakes, and you agree to verify any critical information independently before relying on it.

A pack does not include a streaming subscription, a license to watch a title, guaranteed access to any specific AI model, or a service-level availability commitment. Verify streaming availability and pricing directly with the provider. Do not rely on AI chat for decisions that could cause financial, personal, or other harm.

The Service is not intended for medical, legal, safety-critical, or other high-risk decision making. We make no guarantees regarding data storage duration, and you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important information such as watchlists.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VIDSCIO, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

• Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Damages resulting from any third-party conduct or content
• Damages resulting from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated results

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, only where this limitation is lawful. This is a contractual cap, not a restriction on mandatory refunds or non-excludable consumer remedies. Third-party outages may affect availability, but do not excuse obligations that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable remedies for undelivered paid services. Nothing limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that applicable law prohibits us from limiting.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability for certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations only apply to the extent permitted by law, and your statutory rights remain unaffected.

8. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, and not for losses caused by our own fault, you agree to indemnify VidScio and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with:

• Your unlawful use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you submit through the Service

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with and relies on third-party services including:

• Google Sign-In (for authentication)
• YouTube data/transcript sources used for identification workflows
• AI providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Groq) for content analysis
• OMDB API for movie metadata
• Supabase for backend services
• Dodo Payments for checkout, payment processing, and merchant-of-record services
• PostHog for product analytics
• Sentry for error monitoring and diagnostics
• JustWatch for streaming availability data
• Affiliate commerce partners for certain outbound streaming links
• Google Cloud services (e.g., Cloud Storage / Cloud Vision) for media processing

We do not control the availability, accuracy, or reliability of third-party services. Our infrastructure may use promotional cloud credits; exhaustion, expiry, withdrawal, provider outages, maintenance, quotas, and bugs can interrupt features. We offer no service-level uptime guarantee. We will address affected paid benefits under the refund policy and applicable law; reliance on promotional credits does not waive those obligations. External services have their own terms and privacy practices.

Some outbound streaming links may include affiliate parameters. If you click one of those links and complete a qualifying purchase or sign-up, VidScio may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not change the price you pay and do not guarantee placement or ranking of any provider.

10. Generative AI Disclaimers

By using our AI features, you acknowledge that:

• Generative AI models are probabilistic and may produce inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate content ("hallucinations").
• You should not rely on the AI chat assistant for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical advice.
• Your inputs/prompts may be processed by third-party AI providers (as described in our Privacy Policy), so please do not submit sensitive personal information or proprietary confidential data.

11. Termination

We may suspend access for material violations, security risks, abuse, or legal obligations. Where practicable, we provide notice and an opportunity to address a violation; urgent protective action may occur without prior notice. If we discontinue paid services, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and address undelivered benefits in accordance with applicable law. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
• You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us
• Provisions of these Terms that should survive termination will remain in effect

Upon termination we delete or anonymize personal data in line with applicable law, operational constraints, and residual backup limitations. Identification cache entries use configurable expiry windows, and expired rows may remain in storage until periodic database maintenance removes them. Homepage finder images follow the 30-day retention period described in the Privacy Policy, while chat-image deletion follows conversation deletion.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may pursue remedies in a competent court. Arbitration requires a separate valid agreement and does not restrict non-waivable consumer rights.

Consumers located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other regions with mandatory consumer protection laws retain all non-waivable rights, and may bring claims in the courts of their habitual residence where required by local law.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

14. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Material changes will be notified where required; consent will be requested where legally necessary. Changes do not shorten existing purchased benefits or remove accrued statutory rights.
